Stan Freberg Presents The United States of America Volume One: The Early Years Script Group (1961) This album counts among its many fans Steven Spielberg, Billy Crystal, and Weird Al Yankovic; it is routinely voted by the Doctor Demento show as the greatest comedy album of all time. Voice talents Billy May, Paul Frees, and Jesse White, among others, participated in making this classic album. Scores of Baby Boomers today claim this album is how they learned about the actual History of the United States. This lot is a wonderful artifact. It's a folder marked by Stan Freberg as "Master". It is his personal first draft typed (on yellow paper) script for this landmark comedy album. There are over 100 pages, with copies including handwritten changes. There is minor handling, edge wear, tape, etc. You can see this was a master script with all the additions, subtractions and notes. Also is a second folder marked "Original USA -- Before Typed" ("before typed" meaning before the final, corrected typing). This folder has his working typed script for nine sections within the album. An opened copy of the Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America (SM-1573) vinyl album from Stan Freberg's personal collection is included in the group.
