    Description

Rudolph Dirk' Prayer Book (P. O'Shea, circa 1888). Created in 1897 by Rudolph Dirks, The Katzenjammer Kids is the only comic strip to be published continuously in three centuries. Dirks moved from the 'Jammers to The Captain and the Kids, another strip featuring Hans and Fritz and the Captain, which was published continually until 1979. This small book, titled The Christian's Daily Guide, is a manual of daily devotion that belonged to Rudolph Dirks. The book is well-worn, and includes bookmarks with devotional phrases written both in English and German. The book measures approximately 3" x 5". The spine is loose and the binding along the edge is torn, otherwise this book is in Good condition. From the collection of Rudolph and John Dirks.
