Description
Roaring '20s Airfield Concept Artwork and Vintage Gas Pumps Group (c. 1940s/1976). The five and one-half acre Roaring '20s Airfield opened on Memorial Day weekend in 1976. This is believed to be a rare park concept artwork for the Motorcycle Chase ride and Gasoline Alley Auto Race. The mixed media concept artwork has been laminated, and measures 24" x 19". The art is in a badly handled mat. Also included are two repainted vintage stripped-down antique gas pumps that were on display within the park. The gas pumps are 8 feet in height. One pump has original metal tag that reads "G & B Model Gilbert and Barker Manufacturing Springfield Mass. Self-Measuring Pump." Both gas pumps have been repainted and modified for park use, in red and white. Many original pieces are missing; sold strictly "as is" with the original artwork. This is one fun lot for the car and motorcycle collector! Handling and wear through park use and age; Good condition.Auction Info
