Rare Inter-Office Memo to Walt Disney Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1965). In this lot we have an inter-office memo from Mel Melton to Walt Disney concerning a request to bid on a project by the U.S. Navy. Written on the document is the word "No" in Walt's own hand. The memo is dated June 11, 1965, the subject was noted as "Navy R&D Project." This is a very rare historical document and shows the depth of innovative creativity demonstrated by WED Enterprises. The Navy is asking Disney to build an Iron Man-type suit, literally, back in 1965! In 1986 WED would become Walt Disney Imagineering. The second document is from Bob Jackson to Wathel Rogers and concerns what response Disney should have to the request from the Navy. Inter-office memos and paperwork like this are extremely rare, and are highly coveted by Disneyana aficionados.
