Description
Pinocchio and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad Studio-Printed Animation Scene/Sequence Draft Group of 3 (Walt Disney, 1940/49). Offered here is a phenomenal trio of Disney studio-printed scene/sequence drafts including 2 for Pinocchio and 1 for "The Fantastic Mr. Toad" segment of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Presented in table format, these drafts detail Scene No, Artist, Screen Footage, B.G. Data, and a Description of Action. The letter-sized documents measure 8.5" x 11", are each noted as Draft No. FINAL, and 3-hole punched to be housed in a studio reference binder as featured in one of the Pinocchio drafts; all 3 drafts are believed to be complete. Pinocchio's drafts bear dates from November 1938 to mid-January 1940 (about two weeks before release!), while Mr. Toad is dated primarily from March to May of 1949 with a handful of pages from earlier drafts the previous year interspersed throughout. Pinocchio's pair of bound and looseleaf drafts are composed of over 120 pages each beginning with the opening Sequence 1 Scene 1 featuring a "Long Shot [of] the 'Pinocchio' book set-up" and concluding with the final Sequence 12 Scene 39 "as Jiminy sings the last phrase of 'When You Wish Upon a Star.'" From The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, "The Fantastic Mr. Toad" segment contains 68 numbered, looseleaf pages beginning and ending with an animated volume of The Wind in the Willows. With typical handling and edge wear including light age-related toning and minor curling/warping, overall this incredible group of 1940s animation drafts is in Very Good condition.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Pinocchio.
