Description
James Bama "Pirate of the Pacific" Doc Savage Limited Edition Fine Art Print #905/1100 (Condé Nast Publications, 1993). The rugged hero with the eternally torn shirt makes his way through the China seas in search of criminal mastermind Tom Too in this fantastic print. It's based on the 19th Doc Savage novel by Lester Dent, originally published in 1933. Artist James Bama (1926 - 2022) was one of the most famous illustrators of paperback book covers, executed with realistic images of cowboys and manly adventure-seekers; he also painted those memorable box cover illustrations of Universal Studios famous monsters for Aurora model kits in the 1960s. This superb, moody image of Doc at sunrise has an approximate image size of 11.5" x 18.25"; the hand-numbered print is matted with an opening of 12.5" x 19.75" and framed with glass for an overall size of 18.25" x 25.75". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. The print is in Fine condition with very light handling.More information about Bama, James.
