A Section of Track from Walt Disney's Carolwood Pacific Railroad (Walt Disney, c. 1990-2000s). The Carolwood Pacific Railroad, the ?7.25" gauge ridable miniature railroad run by Walt Disney in the backyard of his home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA, was literally a hobby that built a magic kingdom. It featured the Lilly Belle, a 1:8-scale live steam locomotive named after Walt's wife, Lillian Disney, and built by the Walt Disney Studios' machine shop. The locomotive made its first test run on Christmas Eve 1949. It pulled a set of freight cars, as well as a caboose that was almost entirely built by Disney himself, who had a lifelong fascination with trains. Presented is a 1.5" section of the track which is in a frame of 13.5" x 16.5" with a window of 7" x 10". Included along with the track piece is a photo and short story about Walt's backyard railroad. Frame sold as-is. This comes to auction from the personal collection of Disney Legend Inductee, Peter Ellenshaw (1913 - 2007). Very Good condition.
