Description
"The Truth" Relief Print by Walt Peregoy (1951). This is a relief print titled, "The Truth" by Disney artist Walt Peregoy (1925 - 2015). Peregoy was a color stylist and background painter at the Walt Disney Studios. His credits include; One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Sleeping Beauty and The Sword in the Stone while at Disney before joining Hanna-Barbera to work on Wacky Races and Scooby Doo Where Are You! among many other animated projects. The relief print was gift to Disney Ink and Paint legend Carmen Sanderson (1927 - 2017). Relief printing is a printing method where a printing block, plate or matrix that has had ink applied to its surface, but not to any recessed areas, is brought into contact with paper. The areas of the printing plate with ink will leave ink on the paper, whereas the recessed areas of the printing plate will leave the paper ink-free. Many of us made relief prints when we were kids using a potato. The piece measures 6" x 13" mounted on 7" x 16" board. Condition is Very Good with light handling and superficial smudges.Auction Info
