DescriptionWes Wilson Howlin' Wolf, Big Brother, et Al. Concert Poster Bill Graham #60 Sole Printing (Bill Graham & Creative Lithograph, 1967). Though unnamed here, Janis Joplin was a dominant figure in this historic concert, as singer with Big Brother & the Holding Company (second-billed). Joplin's breakout to national prominence lay only two months ahead, at the Monterey (CA) International Pop Festival. Top-billed Howlin' Wolf, the great Chicago bluesman, went over so well with the Frisco hippie crowds that his record label pressured him into such psych-rock experiments as Howlin Wolf's New Album and Message to the Young. The third-billed Harbinger Complex was well known in the East Bay area, but had disbanded by the end of 1967. Wilson's Art Nouveau-style nude figure dominates this striking design, with a unique style of mind-blowing lettering. Litho on two-ply stock. Image area, 14.5" x 24". Excellent condition.
