Mr. Bug Goes to Town Theatrical Poster (Max Fleischer, 1941). All the principal players in this underrated animated classic are here in this rarely-seen original theatrical poster from Mr. Bug Goes to Town. Thanks to the December 7, 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor and US entry into World War II, the original December release date from the film was pushed back to 2/13/1942, and pre-release momentum was lost. While theater owners saw low returns, the same can be said for other animated features from this period - both Pinocchio and Fantasia were also initially considered box-office failures for Disney. This Style B half sheet poster features images of (from left to right) Smack the Mosquito, Swat the Fly, Hoppity, Honey Bee, Mr. Bumble, and the film's main villain, C. Bagley Beetle. Size is approximately 27.75" x 22", and has been affixed to a stiff paper backer. Condition is Very Good with handling and edge wear.
