Description

Madeline Theatrical One-Sheet Poster (UPA, 1952). UPA Studios created the first film adaptation of Ludwig Bemelmans' series of children's books, centered around a young girl named Madeline in a Catholic boarding school in Paris. This animated short was directed by Bob Cannon, and it was nominated for the 1952 Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoons). Bill Melendez was reportedly one of the animators for the short. This is an original theatrical one-sheet poster for the 1952 short Madeline. It bears the rather humorous tagline "Wait till you meet Gerald McBoing-Boing's girl friend!" The poster measures 26.75" x 40". It comes folded, and it is in Fair condition, with handling and wear, including toning, tearing, creasing, staining, and missing paper. There is some writing on the back. It would benefit from professional restoration.
From the UPA Studio Legend Stephen Bosustow Archive.
