Description
Cartoon Network "World Premiere Toon" RARE Sledgehammer O'Possum "Out and About" Poster (Cartoon Network, 1994). This is an exceptionally rare Sledgehammer O'Possum poster created for the very early promotion of the historic "World Premiere Toons" anthology series. Later called "What a Cartoon!," it featured a series of shorts produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for Cartoon Network in the earliest years of the network. The project featured 48 cartoons and offered an initial launching point for such beloved Cartoon Network staples as Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Cow and Chicken, and The Powerpuff Girls, among others. According to the series creator Fred Seibert, these posters were created to signify the dedication the company was putting into this new talent, with the posters designed around the hip rock poster revival of the early 1990s. This poster was for Sledgehammer O'Possum in "Out and About," directed by Pat Ventura, and features the logos for Hanna-Barbera, Cartoon Network, and World Premiere Toons at the right side. It measures 18" x 22" and is in Very Good condition with minor edge and handling wear.
