    Description

Big Brother and the Holding Company Concert Poster (Family Dog, 1967). Hard-to-find first printing concert poster for the band that launched the career of Janis Joplin, Big Brother and the Holding Company, with supporting band Blue Cheer. Rick Griffin provided the art, which incorporated a vintage Royal Baking Powder can in the design. This was a reoccurring motif in Griffin's work, based on a real object he had in his studio. The poster measures approximately 20" x 14", and is in Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
