Disneyland - Complete Park-Used Original Autopia Car with Original Body, Chassis, and Tires (Walt Disney, c. 1967). This is truly one of our favorite pieces of this entire sale. This is an astounding original Autopia car, used at Disneyland and acquired directly from the park. What makes this particular vehicle so incredibly special is that it is believed to be the single Autopia vehicle to ever come to auction with all original components present, including the chassis and tires (with the exception of the engine, which was not allowed to be sold for safety reasons). Autopia's vehicles were designed by Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr, who reportedly fashioned this generation of the car to have a front-end inspired by a Corvette Stingray and a back-end inspired by an Opal GT. The classic charm of this car should appeal to not just the Disneyland lover but also the automobile fan, with its design based on some of the most iconic cars of the 1950s. Just imagine how many children and adults alike have taken this car for a spin on the speedways of Disneyland! This car dates to about 1967, when this body style was put into use at the park, and it was used until the 1990s. The back of the car also has an original Autopia Mark VII insignia, which would be a remarkably rare find just on its own. This astonishingly cool car measures about 122" long, 48.5" wide, and 33" tall. It is numbered 120. It has its original seatbelt, which hooks onto a loop to fasten. It also has a plastic sign on the front rail reading "Do not bump car ahead, keep hands inside car." This treasure is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and wear.
