Description
MAD's Alfred E. Neuman Model Kit (Aurora, 1965). One of Aurora's wildest, rarest, and coolest kits ever -- the Alfred E. Neuman All Plastic Hobby Assembly Kit #802, complete and still factory sealed, including all plastic parts, Al's four colorful signs, the original instruction sheet, and a full-color longbox, all in just about the same condition as they were in 1965. In the early 60's, kids were MAD about plastic model kits, and on the cover of MAD #89 (September 1964), Frankenstein's Monster tries his hand (or should I say someone else's hand) at putting this kit together. It was one of the magazine's most popular covers, and after hundreds of written requests, Aurora produced the MAD mascot's kit. The kit features four sets of arms, all in different poses. Fully assembled, Alfred stands approximately 8" tall, on a 7.5" x 5.25" base. Even back in 1965 this kit was scarce, being in production for only a year. Only the third we've ever offered! Original shrink wrap is still sealed, but torn in some places. In Excellent condition.Auction Info
