Description

Walt Disney World Carousel of Progress Daughter Audio-Animatronic Head Skin Latex Mold Pull (Walt Disney, 1974). Presented is a fantastic and rare original latex skin created for the celebrated Walt Disney World attraction The Carousel of Progress. This is a rotating theater audio-animatronic stage show attraction, located in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort. Steeped in both nostalgia and futurism, the attraction's premise is an exploration of the joys of living through the advent of electricity and other technological advances during the 20th century via a "typical" American family. It's been said that Walt Disney declared the Carousel of Progress as his favorite attraction, and it holds the record as the longest-running stage show in the history of American theater. Showing off the sculpting skills of Disney's Imagineers, this skin is an unfinished, unpainted version of the same skins that are utilized on Disney audio-animatronic figures. The piece measures approximately 12" tall, 7" wide and 8.5" deep and has been filled with a foam-based compound for subsequent display as a three-dimensional object. The notation "Ge. daughter" is seen on the back side with the date 4/2/74. The life-size head shows minor handling and debris from normal use, and it shows some cracking at the seams. The condition is Very Good.
