Walt Disney Collectibles - Rare "Pluto's Christmas Catastrophe" Large Big Figure As-New in Box (Walt Disney, 2007). Mickey Mouse's playful pup Pluto is caught in the holiday spirit in this "Pluto with Lights Christmas" Large Disney Big Figure! Disney Big Figures debuted in 1989 with a simple release of the "Disney Standard Characters" Mickey, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy. However, Disney retail branches expanded the collection to include exclusive and limited-edition figure releases based on popular feature films, issued through The Disney Store, The Disney Catalog, and Disney Parks. The sensational bloodhound debuted in "The Chain Gang" (1930) and after much development by ben Sharpsteen, Norm Ferguson, and others, Pluto went on to co-star or star in more than 110 short films between 1930 and 1995. This Pluto Large Big Figure features an illuminating string of Christmas lights (operated with the help of a 120VAC/60Hz/12W adapter; included) and was released limitedly during a holiday season through Disney Shopping. This piece was soon sold-out, "retired", and has long-since been sought after by collectors. This Large Big Figure measures 17.5" x 20" x 14" and is in Fine condition and is accompanied by its safety instructions sheets, original polyform packaging, and its 20" x 27" x 21" box.
