Description

TRON Press Kit, Ad Proof Prints, and Handheld Game (Walt Disney, c. 1982). TRON made history upon its release in 1982 for its extensive use of stereoscopic graphics and its innovative graphic technology. The film has gained a cult following in the decades since, with both the technology and the style of the film being much applauded by fans and critics alike. This lot contains three wonderful pieces from the release of the film. The first is a press kit, distributed to share information about the production, cast, crew, and plot of TRON with advertisers and marketing partners. The press kit includes five packets of various publicity information on official TRON/Disney letterhead, as well as one page giving revisions to the original information. Also included is a booklet listing all the credits for the film. These items are all contained inside a TRON-branded folder. The second item in this lot is a group of five pages of ad proofs for the film. These black-and-white photo-print pages give various sizes and layouts of marketing graphics for the film. The pages measure about 11" x 15" and they are stapled together in their upper left corners. Finally, this lot also includes a Tomytronic TRON handheld game. This game is copyrighted with 1981 Walt Disney Productions, and the game featured three different games inspired by the film. The game measures about 6" x 8.5" x 4". It is untested, and no working condition is implied. The press kit's contents are in Very Good condition with some handling and edge wear. The folder itself is in Good condition, with some scuffing, staining, folds and general wear. The proof sheets are in Good condition, with some handling and some tears. The game is in visually Good condition, with some handling and dust.
