Description

Toy Robot Group Box Lot (c. 1950s-2000s). Robots have loomed large in science fiction films since the days of early 1930s movie serials like The Vanishing Shadow, The Phantom Empire and Flash Gordon. The film Forbidden Planet in 1956 introduced Robby the Robot, which kickstarted the craze for toy robots, many coming from Japan as wind-up tin figures. Here's a fantastic find for any fan of these mechanical beings; a box lot of robot and space-related toys. Three of the pieces are Robbie the Robot toys, including a red metal "Planet Action Robot" with a box (this one is missing most of the head and one arm part), another metal Robbie-style toy sanding 8.5", and a big plastic more realistic Robbie standing 15.5" (also missing a few small parts, with a loose clear plastic head part). There are eight more (mostly) tin robots with boxes for five. There's also a ship toy in tin with rubber wheels from the 2005 film Zathura; a 1950s style "Rocket Bank" in plastic; a small plastic space ship with wheels, and a tin/plastic "Atomic" ray gun toy. Fair to Very Good condition.
