Description

The Prince and the Pauper Mickey Mouse Animation Drawings Group of 7 (Walt Disney, 1990). "Do you know what it's like to be a prince?" After English pauper Mickey Mouse is summoned by the prince, he gets his very first glimpse of the inside of the royal palace in this collection of seven animation drawings from the Walt Disney Feature Animation production of The Prince and the Pauper! The Prince and the Pauper is historically the first short to accompany a feature-length Walt Disney Picture and was the final traditionally inked and painted theatrical motion picture prepared by Walt Disney Feature Animation. While some objects were rendered on computers and transferred to paper and cels, the characters like Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Pete and the weasels were completely hand-drawn. This collection of rough drawings depicting Mickey Mouse wearing peasant clothing was accomplished in colored pencils on standard-field animation paper and was prepared for a sequence that appears around the 6:13 - 6:15 mark of the production. This lot has approximate image sizes of 5"x 6.5" and is in Very Good condition, exhibiting minimal wear from handling and production and toning to some sheets. These animation artifacts are a testament to the labor of love and fine artistry that produced the final traditionally inked-and-painted Walt Disney Feature Animation production that is The Prince and the Pauper!
