Description
The Disney Store - RARE Pluto 14" x 14" x 25" Store Display Figure (Walt Disney, 1980s-1990s). Walt Disney's Pluto is the sensational star of an animated display, a rare treasure from a bygone but memorable location of The Disney Store! The outstanding Pluto debuted in Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse Sound Cartoon "The Chain Gang" (September 5, 1930), going on to co-star in 24 animated short films before receiving his very own series of Pluto shorts. Decades later, the first location of The Disney Store opened, decorated with dimensional tableau presented above its merchandise displays, each one featuring popular Disney cartoon stars including Pluto. For 34 years, VIPs stepped into the realm of The Disney Store locations, from 1987, until the last branch closed its doors in September 2021. During that memorable era Mickey Mouse's loyal and lovable pup Pluto "came to life" for guests, through this style of large fiberglass sculpture "with plenty of character", hand-painted with a bold, airbrushed palette that accentuates his dimension and bright green collar. Measuring 14" x 14" x 25" tall, this Disney Store artifact is in a Very Good condition, well-preserved with signs of professional restoration, and comes complete with his detachable ears and tail. The wireframe prong of one "ear" is broken a little short and the tail prong is crooked but is easily attached and doesn't affect the aesthetic of this display. This memorable artifact was never intended for sale to the public and is of the few salvaged from the memorable retail chain and captures the magical and nostalgia of The Disney Store!Auction Info
