The Disney Store - Goofy Playing Bongos Store-Displayed Character Prop (Walt Disney, c. 1990s-2000s). This is a terrific over-sized Disney Store character display prop depicting Goofy as a bongo player. Animator and Disney Legend Art Babbit would be largely responsible for developing the Goofy character with his good-natured and laid-back demeanor. This RARE Disney Store prop measures roughly 35" x 28". This piece was an actual display in The Disney Store. The store displays were never sold to the public. Incredibly popular with customers, these oversized characters inspired the highly collectible Disney Big Figs which were sold exclusively through Disney retail stores, parks, and catalogs throughout the late 90s and early 2000s. This exceedingly rare store prop exhibits typical wear from its use and removal. Despite minor chips, scuffs and scratches, the piece presents beautifully. His bongos are designed to be removable. Perfect for an entertainment room - this precursor to the Disney Big Figs will display nicely among any animation collection. Goofy's ears are missing otherwise, condition is Fair to Good.Auction Info
