Description

Tarzan in the Forbidden City Paperback #23 (Bantam, 1940). The first-ever Edgar Rice Burroughs paperback! The illustrated, laminated cover is by an unknown artist. This series of Bantam books was sold through vending machines, at airports and train stations, until around 1943. An abridgement of Tarzan and the Forbidden City, with one word of the title unaccountably changed. Good condition with edge wear, rounded corners, wear on the back edge of the spine, a slight spine roll, and lamination separation on the front cover. An extremely sought-after and hard-to-locate Burroughs/Tarzan collectible.
