Stan Freberg TV Award Group of 2 (c. 1950s). Stan Freberg was a major radio, TV, and live performing star in the 1950s. This lot showcases two awards bestowed upon Stan that showcase his legend. He was a regular performer on the Colgate Comedy Hour, an NBC-TV live show that ran from 1950 until 1955, and was given this award that reads, "The Colgate Palmolive Company Acclaims the Distinguished Talent of Stan Freberg for his Appearances on The Colgate Comedy Hour and his continuing contributions to the Art of Television Comedy." The award is 11" tall, with slight tarnish and handling. A second award is a 1957 All American Awards of the Year given out by Radio-Television Daily for "The Most Promising New Talent." The award reads, "On Behalf of the Radio and Television Editors of the United States who participated in the Radio-Television Daily Poll and who by their ballots directed that this symbol of Artistic Distinction be permanently recorded for the year of 1957." Framed with glass for an overall size of 15.25" x 18.75". Minor handling and edge wear; Fine condition.
