Description

Stan Freberg Hollywood Walk of Fame Award (1960). On February 9, 1960, Stan Freberg received a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. His star is located at 6145 Hollywood Boulevard and part of a huge tourist attraction that draws 10,000,000 visitors annually. There are five categories to the star award, and Stan's was given for Audio Recording and Music, denoted by a record player emblem. Only 17% of the stars on the Walk are in this category. (Side note: This was one of the earliest Walk of Fame Awards, given to Stan at the same time Marilyn Monroe received one -- "only for different talents, Stan used to say!) This is the actual award Stan Freberg received at the unveiling of his star. It's in a wood frame measuring 10" x 14". Also included with this item is Stan Freberg's Second Award, given to him to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, awarded to him on November 3, 2010. This second award measures 12" x 12". It's extremely rare to have both awards from the same star! Minor handling to frames; overall Fine condition.
