Description

Playboy #1 (HMH Publishing, 1953) Condition: VG. Marilyn Monroe was a rising starlet in 1953, and Hugh Hefner was a struggling ex-Esquire Magazine employee with a vision for his own publication. History proved that MM and HH were the perfect match for the premiere issue of Playboy. This copy is in Very Good condition, with the covers showing some outside wear, including a 1" tear at the top of the back cover. The staples show some oxidation, but the page quality is very nice, off-white to white, supple, with no tears. And Marilyn looks ravishing, just as she did when this historic issue hit the newsstands, over 50 years ago. From the Don Vernon Collection.
