Paramount Studios Pamphlet, Song List Memo from Sam Buchwald, and Magazine Review List (Paramount, 1949). This lot is fantastic find for fans of Paramount animation! Included is a Paramount pamphlet with short leaders from 1945-46 with information on the six different units producing shorts. Some notable pages include information on Pal's Puppetoons, an innovative series of over 40 shorts created by George Pal (1908 - 1980), and a three-page foldout with information and photos on the skilled team at Famous Studios. This includes influential figures in animation like Disney Legend Bill Tytla (1904 - 1968), legendary storyboard artist and writer Izzy Sparber (1906 - 1958), and producer Sam Buchwald (1910 - 1951) as well as various members of the art and sound department. Also included is a memo by Buchwald dated 5/10/1949 to various studio members with a list of songs for story angles as well as a few pages of reviews on various animated shorts by Famous Studios, Universal International, Columbia, MGM, Disney, 20th Century, and Warner Brothers. This wonderful group of ephemera measures 9.25'' x 12'' and the standard 8.5'' x 11'', presenting a wonderfully rare look at the creative process of these incredible artists. There is light age-related toning, minor handling and edge wear, small creases, and light debris. Very Good condition overall.
