Description

Huge Replica Frontierland Sign Displayed at Gene Autry Museum Exhibit (Walt Disney, 1995). At first glance, you might think this is the real deal from 1960s Disneyland! This is an incredible, full-scale replica of the sign at the entrance of Frontierland in Disneyland. The sign replicates the original sign installed at the entrance to Frontierland wonderfully, with the rustic, wood-like base and the word "Frontierland" written in bold, stylized white letters. The sign is absolutely huge, essentially the same size as the original! It measures an incredible 95.5" long. That's just about 8" feet long! The sign was custom-made for a 1995 exhibit at the Autry Museum of the American West entitled "Walt Disney's Wild West." This museum has had a long relationship with Disney, with the permanent exhibits being designed by Disney Imagineering. This great piece is composed of dense foam, with realistic wood texture hand-painted across the entire front and back of the sign. There are two mounts at the top of the sign used to hang it. The piece measures 95.5" long, 13.5" tall, and about 1" thick. It is in Good to Very Good condition, with some handling and wear, including some small areas of paint chipping on the corners.
From the Rummell Collection.
