Gamma World Roleplaying Game First Edition / Third Printing Sealed Box Set (TSR Inc., 1981). The 1978 Gamma World RPG box set, a hallmark of post-apocalyptic science fantasy, includes a 56-page rulebook, a map of a devastated North America, and dice. Evolving from James Ward's earlier Memory Alpha RPG, the game pulled influence from a diverse array of post-apocalyptic fiction such as Mad Max, Brian Aldiss's Hothouse, and Ralph Bakshi's Wizards. Although never as popular as Dungeons & Dragons, the cult favorite game became a foundational influence on post-apocalyptic films and video games, most notably the Fallout video game series and TV show.
