Description
Felix the Cat Felix with Magic Bag Standee (King Features Syndicate, 1982). "Life is just a bag of tricks!" quips the iconic Felix the Cat in this neat standee featuring a bold image of the famous feline. In this standee, created in 1982, Felix holds his magic bag and waves at the viewer with a cheery smile on his face. Felix's magic bag was introduced in the Felix the Cat TV series, and it possessed the ability to transform into nearly whatever object Felix needed (though every form it took always retained its characteristic yellow and black pattern!). This image is intriguing in that depicts Felix's yellow bag with black dots rather than the abstracted floral pattern used in the TV series. This design quirk is nearly exclusive to 1982 Felix the Cat merchandise, making this standee even more unique. The cardboard standee is an impressive 29.5" tall and 17" wide, with the image of Felix measuring about 18.25" tall. This standee is in Good condition, with some edge wear and handling and a few scuffs and scrapes throughout, as well as some minor debris and a pinhole on the upper edge of Felix's speech bubble.Auction Info
