Description

Fantasia Premiere Program Signed by Leopold Stokowski (Walt Disney, 1940/1941). An extremely nice original copy of the Fantasia program from the November 13, 1940 World Premiere held at the Broadway Theatre in New York City. The 36-page Fantasia program is hand-signed by Leopold Stokowski (1882 - 1977). Stokowski was one of the leading conductors of the early and mid-20th century, he is best known for his long association with the Philadelphia Orchestra and his appearance in Fantasia with that orchestra. He was especially noted for his free-hand conducting style that spurned the traditional baton and for obtaining a characteristically sumptuous sound from the orchestras he directed. The program measures 9.75" x 12.75" and is loaded with illustrations and behind-the-scenes photographs. The program has edge wear and slight discoloration. Condition is Very Good.
