Description
Fantasia and Donald Duck Publicity Prints plus Song of the South Theater Movie Handbill Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1938-46). This cool lot has a rare Fantasia publicity photo and two great Donald Duck items. First is the Fantasia black & white photo, with a scene from the "Dance of the Hours" sequence with Ben Ali Gator and Elephanchine, one of the ballet dancer elephants. Oddly enough, the image on this 10" x 8" photo print is actually upside down! It's a rare "error" print! The print is linen-backed. Next is a wonderful color transfer print of schoolboy Donald from the 1938 short Donald's Better Self. The print measures approximately 11" x 9". There's also a black & white World War II-era publicity photo of soldier Donald manning a machine gun in a plane that looks more than a little like Pedro from the 1942 film Saludos Amigos. This 10" x 8" print has a rubber-stamped notice on back from The Woodstock Week newspaper; there's also old brown tape and clear tape on back that has stained (does not affect the image side). Finally, a very rare 4-page handbill for Song of the South (1946); the folded size is 6" x 9.25", with the backside printed with an ad for the historic Dixie Theater in Lewisburg, Tennessee. The front image is printed in red, and the interior spread is n blue. It's printed in thin newsprint paper with minor handling and edge wear, plus age-related paper toning, and is in Good condition. The other prints are in Good to Very Good condition with handling wear and the afore-mentioned tape.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five.
