Description
Disneyland - Storybookland 54" Silkscreened Park Attraction Poster (Walt Disney, c. 1956). "Gateway to Enchantment - Storybookland." This is a stunning original hand-silkscreened attraction poster for the Storybookland attraction at Disneyland. These large attraction posters were utilized throughout the Park, promoting the Park's original lands and attractions to countless wide-eyed guests during Disneyland's earliest years. Depicted here is Storybookland's iconic Monstro the Whale devouring a boat of Disneyland guests as they embark on their journey to view miniature versions of homes and villages from classic Disney films. The poster was designed by Bjorn Aronson, and remains one of the most instantly-recognizable of the Park's original attraction posters. It measures 36" x 54" and is in Very Good condition with minor edge-wear. There are three small tears along the top edge that have been reinforced on the back side with tape, and the word "Storybookland" has some small spots of smearing to the pink paint from its creation. Silkscreened attraction posters are some of the most sought-after Disneyland artifacts, with this specific example coming from the collection of a former Imagineer.Auction Info
