Disneyland - Monorail Mark I Replica 50th Anniversary Limited Edition (Walt Disney, 2005). Here's a beautifully detailed Master Replica of Disneyland's world-famous monorail. This is the Mark I Monorail, released in an edition of 1959 pieces to celebrate Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. The Mark I Monorail was the first monorail train model used on the Disneyland-ALWEG Monorail System from 1959 to 1961. The Mark I trains featured a space-age design with a "bubble" dome on the top of the front and rear cars. There were two three-car trains: Red and Blue. This model is the red train, designed by Will Babington and Rich Allsmiller, based on Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr's 1959 design. Crafted in metal, it measures 22" long and comes with a 21.75" x 4.5" display base which contains a cloisonné pin and a plaque that reads, "Disneyland Monorail Mark I LE 1959." It's an impressive display piece and must-have for any Disneyland collector. In Good condition with some light handling wear.Auction Info
