Disney Shopping - Exclusive Goofy "How to Putt" SOLD-OUT Limited Edition 14" Magical Big Figurine As-New in Box (Walt Disney, 2006-2008). "The putt is the simplest of all strokes. The ball is simply hit from here... to here." After a bit of mental calculation, the lovable "Goof" prepares to putt with confidence, in this spectacular "How to Put" Big Figure! Goofy was designed by Pinto Colvig and Tom Palmer in 1931, soon debuting in Mickey's Revue (1932). Goofy went on to co-star in numerous shorts in addition to taking on the starring role in 50 short films from 1939 to 1965. Disney Big Figures debuted in 1989 with a simple release of the "Disney Standard Characters" Mickey and Goofy and Scrooge Mc Duck. However, Disney retail branches expanded the collection to include exclusive and limited-edition figure releases based on popular feature films, issued through The Disney Store, The Disney Catalog, and Disney Parks. Designed by 25-year contributing Disney Design Group Senior Artist Randy Noble, "How to Putt" is inspired loosely by a scene from "How to Play Golf" (1944). Goofy comes to life wearing full golfing "duds", including a cap, vest, golf knickers, argyle socks, and golf shoes. This mixed-media figurine is an intricate sculpt, with a hand-painted palette, flocked vest and argyle socks, and is embellished with a shiny miniature replica golf club with leatherette grip and is presented atop a flocked "putting green". This Big Figure (Item #99232) was released through Disney Shopping, sold out and "retired", and was soon sought after by fans and collectors. Measuring 11" x 14" x 16", "How to Putt" is in Fine "as-new" condition, and is accompanied by its instructions, polyform foam packaging and a 12.5" x 17" x 19.5" box numbered "193 of 270". The box is in Very Good condition exhibiting minor wear. "How to Putt" is a magical tribute to "the big open greens where a man can get away from it all"!
