Cremona Orchestrion Player (c. 1910). This is an extremely rare Cremona "Style G Flute" orchestrion machine. The Cremona brand was built and sold by the Marquette Piano Company of Chicago from 1905-1920. Cremona instruments were known to be the most expensive and well-made of all commercial coin-operated instruments. Unlike most coin pianos found in bars, Cremona instruments were intended for "upscale" establishments where a more refined taste in music and aesthetics was desired. Cremona used beautiful woods and extensively decorated glass and lamps to appeal to more upscale clientele. It should be noted that J.P. Seeburg worked at Cremona before starting his own firm. This version features wood flute pipes. The piano has a full keyboard, which allows it to be played by a live pianist if desired. Piano is made of quarter-sawn oak wood. The original volume and speed controls and the piano pedals have been removed, indicating modification over the years. Cremona Instruments, were built in relatively small numbers in comparison to J.P. Seeburg. This machine is sold "as is" with no implied warranty or working condition, with restoration required. It is considered by collectors to be a very desirable machine in any condition. Fair condition.
