Carl Barks - Disney Caricature Ring Set (1996). Since the beginning of time, man has been intrigued with the allure of rings. During the middle ages, in an age of sorcerers, witches, and wizards, it was often believed that rings with magical powers existed. Carl Barks used this theme in his first complete story "The Mummy's Ring," in Four Color #29. How fitting then, to offer this nifty lot to the true-blue Carl Barks aficionado-- it's a boxed set of matching gold and silver character rings, featuring the face of Unca' Carl himself. The gold ring is made of 14k gold, and the silver one is sterling silver. The image on each ring is a sculpted version of Barks' self-caricature. Barks wears Donald Duck's distinctive sailor cap. The drawing was used on the cover to Mike Barrier's 1985 book Carl Barks and the Art of the Comic Book. The rings come in a handsome 2.75" x 5" x 1.5" wooden box, and are in Excellent condition. If you know who Carl Barks is, and if you appreciate and enjoy his definitive comic book Duck stories, especially Uncle Scrooge and the Donald Duck stories for Walt Disney's Comics & Stories, then you will treasure these handsome and unique pieces of jewelry, rings that will forever capture a bit of the Barks magic.
