Description

Captain America Jack Kirby-Inspired Bronze Statue (Marvel/Bowen, 1998). The 1960s Silver Age-era Captain America comes running to the rescue, in this exciting sculpture from the praised sculptor Randy Bowen. It presents the iconic Captain America in a sensational pose inspired by the magnificent work of Jack Kirby. The amazing cast-bronze piece weighs in at a hefty 25 pounds and is affixed to a fine marble base with a 9.5" diameter. Cap stands a proud 15" tall and is etched with Bowen's signature at the base. Numbered #44/100, this sculpture replicates Kirby's chiseled-like style with Bowen's superb sculpting abilities. Captain America has been a fan favorite since the WWII comic books published by Marvel forerunner Timely Comics produced by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon; the mighty character was revived in the pages of The Avengers #4 in 1963, with art once again by Jack Kirby. This bronze statue has some patina, and is in Very Good condition.
