Michael William Kaluta - Photo Prints and Letter Group of 3 (Kaluta, 1978). Kaluta's admiration of comics pioneer Winsor McKay (Little Nemo) shows in these two lovely glossies, from limited runs produced by the artist himself. The flying-bed image alludes to McKay's Dreams of a Rarebit Fiend fantasies. The otherworldly scene with a dancing nymph and a sphinx-like sculpture recalls McCay's dreamscapes of the early 20th century. Each is signed and numbered as #75 of 100. Kaluta's accompanying letter (handwritten) to an admirer explains the availability of various photo prints and other pieces. Printed on Eastman Kodak stock. Image area, 8.5" x 11". Three tiny emulsion chips in the sphinx piece. Excellent condition.
