Max Fleischer Studios - "Superman" Cartoon Manuscript "Under the River" (aka "Secret Agent") (Paramount, 1943). The Fleischer Studios "Superman" cartoon series remains a landmark in animation history, and has left a legacy for generations. There were seventeen "Superman" cartoons produced from a period between 1941 and 1943. Here is a working copy of a manuscript which was originally titled, "Under the River," which was eventually released as "Secret Agent," the last of the Fleischer "Superman" cartoons. Written by Mike Meyer, this 21-page script is filled with camera angles, dialogue and production notes. If you are a Superman fan and want to experience pure, Golden Age action, this manuscript will be a coveted prize in your collection. From the collection of Richard and Wendy Pini. Richard says: "To us, the Fleischer 'Superman' cartoons represented the epitome of animation and here was a chance to see how one of those cartoons evolved in script form."

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
