    Description

Ghost Town Peek In Mannequin Group of 2 (c. 1940s-70s). Here's a pair of rare Peek In mannequins from Ghost Town. First is a hand-painted all wood 5-foot, 11-inch tall vintage male mannequin, with cloth joints and a hole in his mouth in which to insert a cigarette. Fingers are missing from one hand, and it has scratches and paint loss due to more than 50 years of display. This man was an actual "Peek In" figure at the Millinery Shop, used for a time as the husband in the living quarters. Next is a female Peek In wooden mannequin, approximately 5 feet, 4 inches in her sitting mode. This mannequin was displayed in the back parlor of Goldie's. Looking in the windows of the drug store, the jail, the saloon, the gun shop, and seeing these types of mannequins in period costumes and surrounded with real antiques to the era is still part of the charm of Ghost Town. Very few of these mannequins have ever been sold. Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
