    Description

Ghost Town "Main Street Tombstone" Prop (c. 1940s-50s). Vintage "Deadwood Dick" prop tombstone from the Ghost Town Main Street. It was written that originally every one of the epitaphs actually was on a tombstone somewhere. Sign makers at Knott's used rubber masking tape and carefully cut out all the lettering, pasting the letters onto the new wood markers. Then they took the markers to sandblasters, which made each one look like it had been through 50 years of sandstorms. Then, the rubber tape was taken off and the markers looked as real as the authentic ones. This original RARE Ghost Town grave marker reads "Here Lies Deadwood Dick," with his epitaph below his name. The marker is made of weathered wood measuring 16" x 38". There is an 18" split in the wood along the left side. Good condition. One of the best pure pieces of Ghost Town history!
