    Description

Geoffrey Wagner - "Parade of Pleasure" (Derek Verschoyle Limited, 1954). If your curiosity has been piqued by all of those "used in POP" notations in the Overstreet Guide, put in a bid on this book, which begins its section on comic books by calling comics "The marijuana of the nursery"! The rest of this book, subtitled "A Study of Popular Iconography in the U.S.A.," looks at pin-ups, movies, and television. The book is much harder to find (at least on these shores) than the similar Seduction of the Innocent, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer copy than this one. The dust jacket is in Excellent condition; the book is in Very Good condition, with light foxing on the front- and endpapers the only defect of note. Overstreet 2005 GD 2.0 value =$105; VG 4.0 value = $210; FN 6.0 value = $315; VF 8.0 value = $578; VF/NM 9.0 value = $777; NM- 9.2 value = $975.
