Gary Ernest Smith - Krazy Kat Classic Bronze Sculpture Limited Edition #5/30 (Overland Gallery, 1999). George Herriman's wacky cat and mouse duo were early animation stars as well as comic strip favorites, with silent shorts made by Hearst, John Bray, and Winkler Pictures from 1916 to 1929, and sound cartoons from 1930 to '39 produced by Columbia. Krazy and Ignatz get immortalized in this fantastic bronze sculpture, by renowned artist Gary Ernest Smith. The base is actual brick, which measures 16" x 7" x 2.5", and the sculpture (including base) measures 11.5" tall. The classic scene of Ignatz in tossing position, Krazy, being bopped on the bean by the ever-present brick, and even a potted plant that could only come from Coconino County are all here. This beautifully painted piece is in Fine condition. Shipping weight: 33 lbs.
