Uncle Scrooge the Lemonade King Signed by Carl Barks (Whitman, 1960) Condition: Apparent VF+. The first time Carl Barks received published credit for his Disney art! After years of drawing the Disney ducks without a byline, the Disney company finally acknowledged the "Good Duck Artist" -- Carl Barks -- as co-artist (with Norm McGary) on this small children's story book, The Lemonade King. This copy of that hard-to-find book was signed by Barks, dated January 16, 1972, on the first page. The book is remarkably nice condition, especially for an item that was designed for young children. There is a very small area along the outer right edge of the front cover that has a small color break; this area was long-ago touched up very lightly, using a blue marker. Otherwise, the book appears unused. Overstreet 2011 VF 8.0 value = $262; VF/NM 9.0 value = $524. From the Personal Collection of Malcolm Willits.
