    Kay Kamen/Ingersoll - Waterbury Company Letter to Walt Disney Enterprises (Walt Disney, 1934). Kay Kamen brought the idea of a Mickey Mouse watch to the Ingersoll-Waterbury Company that made watches and clocks. The company launched a boy's Mickey Mouse wristwatch and Mickey Mouse pocket watch at the 1933 Chicago exposition, Century of Progress. In 1934, The Ingersoll Company of London, launched a Mickey Mouse watch line as well. The enormous success of the Mickey Mouse watch was one of the major fund raisers for Walt Disney Studios and was used for major studio growth at the time. This is an important letter from the Ingersoll-Waterbury Company President G.H. Close dated March 26th, 1934. It was sent registered mail to Walt Disney Enterprises 2719 Hyperion Ave. Hollywood California. A cc letter was also sent registered mail to Kay Kamen. The letter states "as provided by paragraph #32, agreement dated April 6th, 1933, between Walt Disney Enterprises and the Ingersoll-Waterbury Co. This is to advise that we are exercising the option to extend the term of this contract for an additional twelve months under the same conditions and provisions as the above contract provides." This is a very important letter in terms of the history of the Walt Disney Company. Letter is on Ingersoll-Waterbury Company stationary measuring 8.5" x 11". It is date stamped "Received Mar. 31 1934." Three folds from mailing originally in an envelope. This historical Disney document is in overall Very Good condition.
