Description

Disney Studios Animator's Disk (Walt Disney, 1940). Kem Weber, an industrial designer, was hired by Walt Disney to design the furnishings for his animators, nicely styled with functionality the key to everything. Here's a rare original animation disk from the Disney Studios like the kind seen at all the animator's desks in building 1D's first floor, where most of "Walt's Nine Old Men" worked (a print-out of a page with photos and descriptions is included). This disk was designed to be lit from behind, and could be turned to accommodate any angle the artist needed. The disk is complete with rulers and five metal pegs at both top and bottom. This is a heavy item made of glass and metal, with an overall size of 19.75" x 7" x .75". There's the expected amount of aging on the metal parts; glass looks great with minimum wear. Overall Very Good condition.
