Dick Tracy "Penny Card" Advertising Poster (Criss Cross Cards, 1930s). The Dick Tracy "Penny Cards" were 3" x 3" trading cards were sold for one cent each in vending machines and featured b/w illustrations from the various Tracy Big Little books; sold mostly at gas stations, they would often have the name of the establishment stamped on the back. Offered here is a collection of advertising inserts that would be used with the vending machines, and featured examples of the cards glued to them. This lot includes four of the inserts, each measuring 10.5" x 14", and each featuring a different configuration of cards. Three of the four are still sealed in their original tissue paper wrapping, and all are in Excellent condition with little to no wear. With a scarcity factor far outstripping the cards themselves, this lot is a must for any Tracy collector! From the collection of Larry Doucet.
