Description

Piracy #1 Cover Silverprint Proof (EC, 1954). Of all the "New Direction" titles EC attempted after the fall of their Horror line, Piracy was perhaps the best and most influential of the bunch, even playing a small role in the later Watchmen series from DC. This is the original 1954 Silverprint proof for the cover of the first issue, with art by Wally Wood. The proof was hand-colored, most likely by Marie Severin, for use as a printer's guide. The proof was attached to a sheet of Bristol board, with additional hand-written notes by Al Feldstein on a stapled-on piece of paper. Overall Very Good condition.
