Pinocchio Jiminy Cricket Character Model Study Maquette (Walt Disney, 1940). Historic early character study maquette of Jiminy Cricket, shown here in his original, more insect-like version, as created in 1939 by Joe Grant's Character Model Department. Maquettes like these were produced early on in the planning stages, to give animators a 3-D reference model to base their drawings on. Made of painted hydrocal plaster, it measures 7" in height, on a 4" x 3" base. These somewhat fragile items are rarely seen today. This piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Howard Lowery dated September 7, 2000. It's remarkably well-preserved, and in Fine condition.Auction Info
